"Karen is an excellent communicator. She always took time to explain her recommendations for my father’s care. After thoughtful conversation, we would always come up with a plan that gave comfort to me and met my father’s needs. Karen would go “above and beyond” as well. Any time that she was at the skilled nursing facility, she would check in on my father to assure that his ongoing care was being addressed.
When she worked on my father she always brought a smile and kind words. His eyes positively opened up when she entered the room. (You don’t find that happening with many dental practitioners!) Karen was always able to relax him, which was not an easy thing to do with a 93 year old man.
In summary, Karen Vincent is a consummate professional. She was also warm, patient, and respectful. I give her my highest recommendation!"

"My wife has Alzheimer’s and is not able to communicate and needs special care. She is not able to brush her teeth and relies on others to maintain her daily hygiene
Karen gives my wife the understanding, compassion and the gentle care that is needed.
I am always called by Karen before the appointment so we can coordinate a time that is good for my wife and also that allows me to be present for the appointment. Since I am present for the dental cleanings, I have witnessed the compassion and professional care that Karen gives my wife.
Karen and I have gotten to know each other over the years, and I feel she is part of our lives.
I like the fact that Karen is local and a part of the community. I recommend her as a dental hygienist for those with special needs."

"Karen has changed the quality of life for many patients. She not only provides good clinical care but she is in constant communication with the families, the physicians and referring dentists. We feel that the patients are treated with respect while under her care at our Skilled Nursing Facility.
Many hygienists choose to force treatment on patients, or choose to move them into another room and another chair for treatment, which would increase the need of staffing and also increase the liability for the patients and facility.
Karen’s approach is at bedside which makes a patient feel comfortable and safe. If a patient is ill or not feeling up to a cleaning she does not force the treatment on the patient.
We enjoy monthly reports of what patients she has seen. She always lets us know what newly admitted patients will need dental service.
Our patients have always looked forward to Karen’s visits and they ask us when she is coming again. She remembers each patient on an individual basis knowing their likes and dislikes. I recommend Karen as a dental hygiene caregiver for any patient with special needs."
